Adding Your First Credit Card

Set up your card portfolio with earn rates and point valuations.

  1. Navigate to the Cards page

    From the sidebar, click Cards to open your card portfolio. You can add cards manually or use a pre-built template. To use a template, click Browse templates and pick your card — it pre-fills the multipliers and program for you.

  2. Click "Add card"

    Click the Add card button to open the card entry form. If you used a template, the form will be pre-filled — just review and save.

  3. Enter card details

    Fill in the card name (e.g., "Amex Gold"), issuer (e.g., "American Express"), and select the points program from the dropdown. You can also enter your current points balance and the date you opened the card.

  4. Set category multipliers

    Enter the earn rate for each spending category: dining, groceries, travel, gas, streaming, drugstores, and other (base rate). Most cards earn 1x on general purchases, with higher multipliers for bonus categories — for example, a card might earn 4x on dining and 1x on everything else.

  5. Save and verify

    Click Add card to save the card to your portfolio. It will appear in your Cards list and be available for transaction entry, bonus tracking, and the spend optimizer. CPP valuations for each points program can be adjusted on the Programs page.
